Fraud Prevention
Financial Institutions of all sizes have seen an increase in fraud schemes. There are various methods being used to attempt to get customers' personal information. These methods include emails, text messages, phone calls and more. The most common method is called "phishing." Below are a few tips to help keep your personal information safe from fraud attempts.

Computer Security:

  • The use of Anti-Virus software and firewall protection will help protect your computer.
  • When accessing your Online Banking make sure the browser address (URL) reads "http://www.cbtfl.com" or "https://ibank.cbtfl.com".
  • NEVER respond to an email requesting you to provide personal information to verify an account or to re-activate an account.
  • Community Bank & Trust of Florida DOES NOT contact customers via e-mail requesting that you provide personal information. This information includes but is not limited to passwords, PIN numbers and Check Card numbers.

    Telephone Security:

  • DO NOT provide personal information to an unsolicited caller.
  • If you receive an email or text message that requests you to call a phone number, DO NOT call the number. Report this event immediately by calling us at 1-352-369-1000.
  • DO NOT respond to a phone call or voice mail asking you to verify account information, reactive a bank service or provide personal information.
