Community Bank & Trust announces its "Green for Life" initiative...
Ocala, Florida - Community Bank & Trust of Florida recently unveiled a new internal initiative referred to as Green for Life. The goal of this new program is to identify and implement new business practices that have less impact on the environment, and therefore reduce the banks "carbon footprint." The idea arose out of the employees' growing concern for the environment and global warming, and the effect it will have on today's children and future generations.
The process started by scheduling each of the bank's seven offices for an energy audit. Next, all employees were asked for their suggestions as to how the bank could reduce its impact on the environment through conservation of energy and natural resources, as well as reduced use of items that contribute to pollution. A committee of bank officers then evaluates the suggestions for implementation as part of their new business procedures.
Community Bank & Trust of Florida's President and CEO, Hugh Dailey, stated "our employees feel strongly about the environment. We decided that our bank would lead by example, with the hope that other businesses would join the cause, if they haven't already." The management committee expects to complete its review and implementation process over the next few weeks.
Community Bank & Trust of Florida has seven offices in Marion and Sumter Counties with over $385 million in assets.
