Debit Card Phishing Scam:

PHONE AND TEXT MESSAGE PHISHING SCAM

Community Bank & Trust of Florida customers have reported that they have received text messages sent to their wireless phone or received automated telephone calls telling them that there is a problem with their debit card. The message tells them to enter their debit card number, pin number and other information, or asks them to call a number to re-activate their debit card. If you receive a call from (949) 954-7953 it is NOT legitimate.

THE CALLS AND TEXTS ARE NOT LEGITIMATE

We never call our clients and ask them for account numbers and personal information and we do not use automated lines to communicate with our clients. If you receive one of these text messages or calls, do not provide any personal information. If you receive a call from (949) 954-7953 it is NOT legitimate.

EMAIL PHISHING SCAM

Many customers have reported that they have received an email that appears to be from Community Bank & Trust reporting that they have an alert message. The message contains a link that takes them to a page that looks almost identical to the bank’s online banking log in page. If you were to enter your log in information it will take you to a web page that asks you to enter your debit card information. The fraudsters are attempting to collect your internet banking and debit card information.
