Debit Alert:

If you have a Community Bank & Trust of Florida debit card then you can now enroll in Debit Alert, a FREE fraud protection alert notification program that allows you to receive secure text and/or email messages any time your debit card is used*.

This service is another level of protection that could identify fraudulent debit card activity immediately on your account before more unauthorized transactions occur. Should you be alerted to an unauthorized transaction, simply contact a personal banker for assistance. Debit Alert is a free service offered to all Community Bank & Trust of Florida debit card holders*.

Q:   How do I sign up for Debit Alert?
A:   Please see a Personal Banker to sign up for this service.

Q:   What should I do if I have signed up for the service, but I am not receiving any alerts?
A:   For text messages alerts, contact your cell phone carrier to be sure you are able to receive text messages, or to ensure that certain types of messages are not being blocked.

For email alerts, check your SPAM or JUNK folder. You may need to add: alerts@cbtfl.com to your accepted sender list.

Q:   Why am I receiving Debit Alert notifications for Pre-authorized holds?
A:   A Pre-authorized hold occurs when a merchant approves your transaction and places a hold for the amount of the transaction against your account. The merchant will process the final debit at a later time. This most often occurs for signature based transaction (non-PIN) or when purchasing gas at the pump. You will receive another alert with the completed amount of the transaction at a later time.

Q:   What should I do if I receive an alert of a transaction that I did not authorize?
A:   Please contact us immediately at (352) 369-1000 and speak to a Personal Banker. If you call after regular business hours a recorded message will direct you to information about lost or stolen card transactions.


We NEVER call, email or text you to request your account or debit card numbers. Debit Alerts are established to provide you with information about your debit card transactions. NEVER send your account, debit card or any personal financial information via text or email.

Since there are many factors that may affect the reliability of alerts, such as your device limitations, cell phone network and technical issues with email providers, Debit Alerts should not be relied upon solely for account information.
